概要(目的・用途・実施内容)/ Abstract (Aim, Use Applications and Contents)
(1) High-density Y(Ta1-xNbx)O4 single crystals ranging from between pure YTaO4 and YNbO4 are grown by the floating zone technique to investigate their intrinsic scintillation performance. (2) Pb-free (K0.5Na0.5)NbO3 (KNN) ceramics are investigated as environmentally friendly alternatives to conventional Pb(ZrxTi1-x)O3 (PZT) piezoelectric ceramics.
実験 / Experimental
(1) Single crystal growth by the floating zone technique. (2) Reaction of raw materials in the molten state to get KNN. Pulverization and annealing recrystallization of KNN.
結果と考察 / Results and Discussion
(1) As the growth at the melting point ~ 2050oC
promotes slight evaporation from the floating zone, mainly due to some
Ta-oxides evaporation, the deviation of the crystals' stoichiometry from the
nominal composition was determined by EDX. The results are summarized in Fig. 1.
(2) The composition, crystallinity, and densification
of piezoceramics critically determine their performance. The stoichiometry of
KNN synthesized from the molten state, which leads to some alkali evaporation,
was analyzed by EDX. The recrystallization process of the fine pulverized KNN
powders, needed for the synthesis of high-density ceramics, was studied in
terms of grain size and morphology by SEM, as shown in Fig. 2.
