About this institute

The Ultramicroscopy Research Center houses various advanced electron microscopes and the related equipment, which include a unique high-voltage electron microscope with an omega-type in-column electron energy filter, aberration-corrected scanning/transmission electron microscopes equipped with highly sensitive X-ray and electron detectors, a scanning electron microscope combined with a high-energy-resolution TES microcalorimetry XEDS and etc, as listed below. We host user's research procedure consistently from planning up to experimental data analysis of nanostructure characterization of a wide range of materials by utilizing the facilities. We also offer basic and specialized training courses monthly as well as seminars to facilitate sharing of latest information on progress in nanostructure characterization among users.
